| Changes
to the Permit Process The state of Washington is in the process of potentially modifying the W.A.C. (Washington Administrative Code) which provides the foundation for limitations on lake fishing permits for contests. Club members, with email, received an email forwarded from Bob Higbee indicating that the state was going to limit ABA to 7 events in total. At the June 30th Potholes ABA tournament, Marc Marcantonio, indicated that the Federation had sent a letter to the state recommending that organizations be limited to 5 events. There is a lot of emotion surrounding this issue. The facts are unclear and have not been presented to the club. Rumors abound. In fact, it's unclear what changes are being proposed. While all club members are free to express themselves as individuals and bass fisherman, the club has not taken a position. No one should be speaking for the club. It is premature to take a position since the exact nature of the changes are still unknown. |
