12, 2002 Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order at 7:12 PM and adjourned at 9:10 PM. Eric Wynn, a special guest, was invited by John Davis to check us out. Rob Towers collected the money from the big fish pot with a 6.13 # largemouth caught at Duck Lake.
Program Activity: Tom Melowitz talked about fizzing deep caught
fish.
Raffle: There was no raffle.
Treasurer’s Report: Ken
Ganancial reported a balance of $634.87. Ken also noted that he was
removing $3000 of his own money from the account that had allowed us to
avoid paying a monthly fee. The club discussed opening a employee
account with Wells Fargo with Mike Buse, as well as the Treasurer, as a
valid signatures. The club accepted this proposal unanimously.
Minutes:
The minutes were approved as posted on the Internet.
Conservation Report: The
Federal Government has not yet released the money for the Banks Lake Enhancement
Project. The money is expected to be released in August. Once the
money is released we will firm up a date for our Conservation project on Banks
Lake.
Federation Report: No
report
Tournament Report: Eric Woods reported on the Duck Lake tournament which he won with 27.16lbs. Complete results are on the Internet.
The Lake Whatcom tournament blast off will be 5:30 am with a 3:00 pm on Saturday and 1:00 pm on Sunday. There will be a drivers meeting at 5:00 am on Saturday at the boat launch. There is a speed limit of 40 mph on the lake. Anyone receiving a speeding ticket will be disqualified from the tournament.
Safety: Bring in your boating safety certificates! There is a
new link on the club's website to a new
safety course that you take to meet club safety requirements.
Old Business: 1st Annual Kid’s Day Picnic on Duck Lake
Saturday July 20th. 8 AM – 4:30 PM. The park has been
reserved. There will be a fee
of $15 per family which will pay for food and prizes for the kids. There will be
a fishing time from 10:00am to 12:0pm for the kids, which will be any species of
fish any size. Doug made a motion to donate $150 to the Derby to help with
the expenses, which was passed unanimously.
New Business: Tom reported on the offer the club has to buy Yamamoto baits, if we have a $900 order we can buy the baits for around $3 per bag. An approximate 50% savings.
Tom will also bring in some information on club shirts where club members can order them directly off of the Internet.
Klutz nominations: Frank
White was nominated for running out of gas in a borrowed boat at the Jamboree
because he thought the gas gauge wasn't working.
Frank (again) for calling Kenny G. for an emergency which was the fact that he
forgot his Bible at the hotel.
Eric Woods for forgetting the big-fish money at home for Duck Lake.
Eric (again) overslept on day 2 of the Federation Tournament at Lake Washington and had to be awakened with a telephone call.
