March 9, 2011 Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order at 7:10 pm and adjourned at 9:10 pm.
No one claimed the big fish pot. The special guests at the meeting were Clark
Korper, Jim Pinell and Jerry Stevens who are interested in joining.
They buddied up with Shawn and Joe.
Program Activity: Sean Flaherty
talked about his Chiropractic services and that he mainly focuses on sports
related issues. He has offered everyone in the club a free exam and xray .
Wow! I f anyone is interested go see Sean. He seems very knowledgeable and

Tips, Tactics and Techniques: Wayne
Bailey talked about fishing tubes on bait casting reels and the size weights he
likes to uses and shared an assortment of colors he prefers. Also talked
about the Carolina Rig and his successes with it last year and how much he
thinks it is overlooked. He suggested bigger weights for
deeper water and matching the hooks to the size of the baits.
Russ Baker is on for April.
Raffle: The raffle generated $213 which went to Chris Ferry and Dez
Ruffin for the their trip to the FLW Federation Championship on Nickajack Lake
in Tennessee.
Treasurer’s Report:
Wayne Bailey reported a balance of $2580.59.
Minutes: The February minutes were accepted as posted on the website.
Conservation Report:
None
Federation Report: There is a Federation Meeting in Ellensburg on
March 19th. Gerald Dunn needs an alternate to attend. George Beegle
is going to try to attend.
Tournament Report: Preparation for the
Sammamish open has begun. Volunteers were appointed for morning and afternoon
help. Morning help is asked to be there at 4:15a.m. and afternoon help is
needed around 1:15p.m. The drivers meeting is at 6:15 and blast off
will be at 6:45 or safe light. The same hours for the club tournament on
Sunday as far as drivers meeting and blast off.
Fishing Reports:
Lake Washington has been fishing well.
Most fish are still deep but you can always find some up shallower this time of
year. Drop shotting has been producing well.
Safety:
The first tournaments of the year are close
so make sure you have your Boaters Safety Card. All boat operators need to
make sure the kill switch is attached to the boater at all times when the big
motor operating.
Old Business: The
state team has been selected. Shawn McDaniel is the captain. Any
questions should be directed to Shawn. The jig pour at Wayne's has been moved to
Saturday 3-19-11 at 10:00 a.m..
New Business: Mark Mrzena proposed a new club logo and worked on
letterheads and business cards for club officers. We will vote on this in
April.
